Nobody wants to take notes while the dragon is on the table. Record the game and let software write it up. Here's how to get a clean recording, how the main transcription tools compare, and why LoreKeeper gives your whole party more than a transcript.

Your players get free accounts in your campaign. They read every transcript and summary, add their own notes and characters, and ask Chat about past sessions. Secrets you mark GM Only stay hidden.
Transcripts and summaries land in your campaign wiki beside your characters, locations and maps, and names you have already added link to their pages.
Your campaign's character, group and location names are sent to the transcriber, so fantasy names come out right more often. Then fix any line yourself.
Every line is timestamped, so you can click it and hear exactly what was said. Copy or download the whole transcript whenever you like.
Use your phone, a Discord recorder or anything else. Recordings can run 10 hours and 2 GB, so even marathon sessions fit in one file.
Clips up to 10 minutes cost 5 spell points on the free plan. A full session is 300, so Mighty ($9 a month) covers about 3, and Legend ($29) is unlimited.

Every tool starts with audio, and a clean recording matters more than which transcriber you pick.
General-purpose transcription apps such as meeting transcribers and open-source speech models will turn a recording into text, often cheaply. They don't know your campaign, though, so "Vecna" and your homebrew city come out garbled, and you get a wall of text instead of a recap.
Archivist records with a Discord bot or takes uploads, and works in 35+ languages. Plans run from $10 a month for 1 campaign and 4 sessions to $60 for 10 campaigns and 40 sessions.
Saga20 works from uploads or its phone app, learns your players' voices after the first session, and supports 25 languages. Paid plans are $12.99, $19.99 and $39.99 a month for 6, 12 and 24 session summaries.
Loreify records through its Discord bot or takes uploads, labels speakers and supports 14 languages, for $15 a month for unlimited sessions or $7 for 2.
If your group plays on Discord and you want recording handled for you, a tool with its own bot saves a step. LoreKeeper doesn't have one or label speakers yet, so record with Craig or OBS and upload the file.
